Warrenton Warriors: 2021-2022 sports year in review

The Lady Warrior girls basketball and softball teams both won district titles last season. The Warrenton softball team finished last season with an 18-11 record. They won the Class 4, District 4 championship, defeating Ladue Horton Watkins, Hannibal and Parkway North. They beat Ladue Horton Watkins and Hannibal by double digits before topping Parkway North 6-4 in the district championship game. They lost a close 3-2 affair to Incarnate Word Academy in the sectional round. 

The Lady Warrior girls basketball team finished the season 17-10 and won the Class 5, District 4 tournament. They beat McCluer North 58-36 in the district quarterfinal and defeated St. Dominic 45-41 to win the district title. They lost to Whitfield 44-27 in the first round of the state tournament. 

The Lady Warrior volleyball team also finished the season with a winning record. They finished the season 24-10-1. They lost the district championship game to Hannibal. 

The Warriors also had many individual athletes compete at the state tournament. 

Wyatt Claiborne and Madelyn Marschel both competed at the cross country and track state meets. Garneisha Love and Kolby Meine also competed at the state track meet. 

Eight Warrenton wrestlers competed at the state tournament. Kyler Flowers, Jeremiah Kassing, Joshua Kassing, Noah Lohrman, Levi Penrod, Jacob Ruff and Nicholas Schulze all qualified for state. Caelyn Hanff qualified for state as a freshman. 

Bryce Goulette qualified for the state golf tournament.
